Knife Kumir, Steel Damascus, Handle Elk horn, Through Handle Technology
Kumir. The thick and durable blade of the knife has an aggressive angle of attack, which provides it with a high penetrating effect. They can easily rip open the belly of a fish or the skin of an animal. Notches on the butt of the blade for the thumb compensate for the lack of a long stop on the knife handle. Kumir is a very ergonomic and compact knife that will not let you down.
The blade of the knife is made of forged Damascus steel (the essence of the technology for making Damascus consists in forging/welding of different grades of steels with different carbon contents (ШХ15, У8, СТ45, 5ХНМ, etc.). Manipulations with the number of welded steel layers and their relative position in the metal mass determine pattern on the blade surface and create the effect of a mechanical micro-saw on the cutting edge. As a result, the blade has up to 1500 layers of steel).
After heat treatment, the blade has a hardness of 60 HRC, so it has excellent cutting properties. According to professional hunters, a well-sharpened knife can be used to effortlessly process and skin an elk without additional sharpening of the cutting edge. Moreover, it cuts well food products or various types of wood.
Due to the competently performed tempering after quenching, the blade also has elastic deformation, which allows it to reduce to a minimum its fragility under mechanical stress. At the final stage, before sharpening, the knife blade is etched in an acid solution to emphasize its individuality.
In the manufacture of a knife, we carry out through-mounting (the blade shank goes through inside the handle, which ensures the strength of the structure). The handle of the knife is made of elk horn and decorated with an original pattern (burning). The stop (guard) and the shaped nut are made of cupronickel.
The knife has a deep fit of the blade in a guard made of hardened duralumin. This means that in the knife stop we mill a groove with a depth of about 3 mm and deepen the entire width of the blade into the handle, and not just its shank. In this case, the weakest point of the connection of the blade with the handle (dangerous section) becomes the strongest. For an uninitiated person, this detail is hardly noticeable, but it is very important, since the knife becomes several times stronger and is able to withstand heavy loads.
The knife is supplied with a solid individual leather case with two hangers (fixed and free), a drain and a company logo.

You can return all (undamaged and unused) items purchased at a Breathtaking Steel store for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. In addition, all items purchased on https://breathtaking-steel.com can be returned at a physical location if you are located around Saint Louis MO area.
Gift recipients can return a gift with a proof a purchase from the https://breathtaking-steel.com.

To return by mail, locate your receipt (email or paper), which includes your order number and original box product came in and contact me by email and phone. I will create a shipping label and email it to you. Once I have the returned product, I will make a refund within 4-5 business days.
